Serious Gaming as a Learning Tool for Self-Represented Parties

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This session will examine the evolution and application of game design for serious purposes. It will focus on using games as a learning tool for self-represented parties. There is a lot of evidence that games are engaging and effective teaching tools, but in legal services we are just beginning to explore this area. The presentation will include visual examples of successful efforts using games to teach real-life skills, both in and out of legal services. We will also talk about work being done to identify the needs of SRP’s and how serious games are effecting change in the broader community. There will be a related hands-on workshop in the afternoon covering collaborative design.
